Dr Emma Di Marco is an Australian contemporary musician, educator, artistic director, photographer, and blogger. She holds a PhD in Musicology and a Bachelor of Music in Advanced Performance with 1st Class Honours. In 2017, Emma was awarded a prestigious Churchill Fellowship to travel to the USA, the UK, and the Netherlands to study the practices of contemporary saxophone music and performer-composer relationships in this field. As a champion of Australian music, Emma has toured Australia on multiple occasions with programs that consisted of specially commissioned Australian works. Emma’s current project is exploring how photography, the written word, video games, and contemporary saxophone music can be interwoven in live performance settings. Entitled ‘Scratch’, her mixed-media compositions will be premiered in Australia in 2019.Catherine Likhuta is an Australian-based composer, pianist and recording artist. Her music exhibits high emotional charge, programmatic nature and rhythmic complexity. Catherine's works have been played throughout the United States, Europe and Australia, as well as in Canada, Mexico and Brazil. Her music has enjoyed performances by many prominent soloists, chamber ensembles and large ensembles. In recent years, she was the winner of the International Horn Society Composition Contest (virtuoso division) and the recipient of several awards, including two grants from the Australia Council for the Arts. Catherine holds a Bachelor's degree in jazz piano from Kyiv Gli?re Music College and a five-year post-graduate degree in composition from the Tchaikovsky National Music Academy of Ukraine (Kyiv Conservatory). She is currently pursuing a PhD in composition at the University of Queensland. Catherine enjoys performing as a pianist, often playing her own music.
